James
Halliday Review & Ratings
We continue to get good
ratings by wine aficionado James Halliday and we are thrilled! His 2013 wine companion will be out in
August. www.winecompanion.com.au
2010
Pinot Meunier – Rating 90
Light, bright, clear
crimson-purple; a very good attempt at table wine with this variety; spicy,
savoury nuances do not come over the top of the red fruits (cherry, strawberry
and raspberry) at its core.
2006
Mary Friend Premium Bordeaux Blend – Rating 91
A
distinctly savoury complexity runs through the wine, impacting on the array of
red and black berry fruits of both bouquet and palate, the latter supported by
fine tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc.
2010
Pinot Noir – Rating 92
Very good, bright purple-crimson; a
well-made, light-bodied pinot with strong varietal expression on both bouquet
and palate; red and black cherry with some spice and French oak nuances are the
drivers of a well-priced wine.
2011
Sauvignon Blanc – Rating 93
Pale straw-green; has a highly
expressive bouquet and an equally intense palate, both with a virtuoso display
of blossom, herb, citrus, asparagus and gooseberry; a hint of sweetness on the
finish adds to the pleasure of the wine. This
wine received a Silver
Medal at
the Federation Sq Regional Showcase held in April and is now eligible for entry to the Victorian Annual Awards to
be held in August. Another win
