Kinloch Wines Cellar Door News

Looking towards retirement!

Susan and Malcolm, owner-operators of Kinloch Wines have now stopped the production of wine and are currently working towards culling the vineyard to a manageable size purely for the sale of fruit to some of our regional winemakers for their own labels. The cellar door however, is still operational on the weekends as a tasting and sales outlet for our existing stock of wine.  We are now completely out of stock of our white varieties (Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and our 2009 vintage of Don Kinloch Sparkling) and are left with the following wines to sell:

2009 Merlot – a quaffing wine to be enjoyed with a BBQ as the wine matches well with meats on a grill

2010 Pinot Noir – this wine has had a rating of 92 by James Halliday and is drinking well now, and will complement foods such as duck, pork, veal and pasta

2006 “Mary Friend” Bordeaux Red Blend – a lovely blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot – fermented for 22 months in Russian oak – James Halliday rates it 91 – this wine is drinking well now, and will also benefit with cellaring for a further 5 years.

While continuing with cellar door sales, we wish to advise that the food service operations only will cease after the Queen’s Birthday weekend, the last day for food will be Sunday 9th June.

Also of note is that we will be releasing our new vintage 2010 Don Kinloch Sparkling later this year (around August) and we are told that this vintage is “excellent” so for those lovers of our sparkling this is exciting news – we shall be in touch.

If you would love to purchase some of the above wines, please call into the cellar door during the weekends or call us on 5777 3447 with your order.

Thank you for your support over the years.
